The Mentor Project documents the role of mentoring and its powerful impact not only on the mentees but the mentor. During my research what I discovered was astonishing. After nearly45 in-depth interviews all the participants unanimously said being a mentor changed their life. It is now my mission to let others know the value and benefits mentors receive from giving back."

Mentor: Susan Silver

November 16, 2017

Did you know "Grandparenting" is a form of mentorship?  Even more interesting...Did you know that you don't have to be a grandparent in order to "grandparent"?  Susan Silver is doing just that.  She is mentoring her "munchkin", who is not her biological granddaughter, by "grandparenting" her.  They live on opposite coasts of the United States, but they skype, visit often, and have an unbreakable bond.  Susan keeps up with her school work, and her life.  Although not a biological grandparent, Susan she has a deep, meaningful relationship with her "munchkin", who calls her "Aunt Soozie".  They are both learning from each other (in fact,  "Aunt Soozie" has taken up adult coloring so they can color together).
