December 19, 2017

Do formal mentorship programs work?  Do mentors enjoy guiding and training new members of the profession?  Dr. Wendy Fried describes mentoring in a formal mentorship program and her relationship with her mentee.  In their case, it absolutely worked! Dr. Wendy Fried is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, in private practice and is an attending physician in the Department of Ob/Gyn at North Shore University Hospital and is Clinical Assistant Professor at Hofstra North Shore/LIJ Medical School. Dr. Fried mentors and teaches residents and medical students and has authored publications in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Mentor Project documents the role of mentoring and its powerful impact not only on the mentees but the mentor. During my research what I discovered was astonishing. After nearly45 in-depth interviews all the participants unanimously said being a mentor changed their life. It is now my mission to let others know the value and benefits mentors receive from giving back."
