The Mentor Project documents the role of mentoring and its powerful impact not only on the mentees but the mentor. During my research what I discovered was astonishing. After nearly45 in-depth interviews all the participants unanimously said being a mentor changed their life. It is now my mission to let others know the value and benefits mentors receive from giving back."

Mentor: Susan Silver

Can an act of kindness turn into mentorship?  Yes!  Meaningful connections and relationships with one person guiding the next generation is in fact mentorship.  In Susan's case, she provided tuition for three soldiers, which could have ended there.  But, they developed deep relationships, and in short time, they became her family: three sons, their wives and now grandchildren.  She didn't simply write a check.  She guides them in their lives, they turn to her when they need advice, and she loves them as though they were biological children.  She is their mentor and they are her legacy!  Click the image to hear Susan's story.
