Who Mentored St. Thomas Aquinas?

January 3, 2018

Did you know St. Thomas Aquinas had a mentor?  The bible is filled with mentors.  And, indeed, St. Thomas Aquinas had a mentor - Albert the Great.  Professor Christopher Bellitto, author of Ageless Wisdom: Lifetime Lessons from the Bible, introduces us to Albert the Great, mentor to St. Thomas Aquinas.

We often think of mentorship as something fairly recent, but the bible introduces us to many of the mentors who guided their mentees to bring forth change and make meaning in the world.  The bible is a great way to trace the legacy mentors leave through their mentees.  Albert the Great is just one of them.  If you enjoy this one, check out the other blog posts on The Mentor Project made by History Professor and author Christopher Bellitto.

The Mentor Project documents the role of mentoring and its powerful impact not only on the mentees but the mentor. During my research what I discovered was astonishing. After nearly45 in-depth interviews all the participants unanimously said being a mentor changed their life. It is now my mission to let others know the value and benefits mentors receive from giving back."
