Who Mentors Psychologists?

January 4, 2018

Have you ever wondered who mentors psychologists?  Who inspires them and guides them?  Dr. Kirkland Vaughans talks about his first mentor, and how he now mentors other psychologists the same way his mentor guided him.  Mentorship changed his life and he is changing the lives of others who follow in his footsteps in the field of psychology.

Kirkland Vaughans is a clinical psychologist, professor, author, and psychology supervisor at Adelphi University's Derner Institute.   "I enjoy watching them grow.  And I grow." Click the image below to view the video of Dr. Vaughans speaking about mentorship.

The Mentor Project documents the role of mentoring and its powerful impact not only on the mentees but the mentor. During my research what I discovered was astonishing. After nearly45 in-depth interviews all the participants unanimously said being a mentor changed their life. It is now my mission to let others know the value and benefits mentors receive from giving back."
